Samuel Ray is a founding partner of Colla & Ray LLP, where he brings his extensive experience in both criminal and civil litigation. A Chicago native, Sam attended college in South Carolina, where he was a Division I athlete. After graduating, he worked on mayoral and gubernatorial campaigns before pursuing his law degree at DePaul College of Law.

Sam began his legal career as a criminal prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable trial experience. He later transitioned to civil litigation, serving as Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco, where he was assigned to the Code Enforcement Division and handled affirmative litigation on behalf of the city.

In 2019, Sam co-founded Colla & Ray LLP, where he focuses on civil litigation. Sam has successfully handled over 100 trials. His approach to litigation is strategic, results-driven, and informed by years of courtroom experience. He is admitted to practice law in both California and Illinois.

Outside of the courtroom, Sam enjoys running, snowboarding, and reading about American history. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Switzerland.
